The walk down the aisle
Processional, vows, recessional. Strings, a saxophone or a solo guitarist playing live rather than off a laptop, with the sound run quietly enough that nobody notices it is there.
While guests find the bar
A trio, a solo guitarist or a sax over a DJ set. Loud enough to lift the room, quiet enough that a table of eight can still hear each other talk.
Speeches and first dances
The band plays low through service, then lifts for the first dance and the toasts. Speech microphones, video playback and the timing cues all sit with the same crew.
When the room stands up
The band opens the floor, the DJ takes it from there, and the handoff is planned so it never empties. At this hotel that DJ has usually been Oren or Nathan, with a hand drummer and a saxophone coming in for entrances and the hora.
The last ninety minutes
Lights drop, the set changes, and the room turns into something closer to a club. This is the part guests describe afterwards, and it is the part that needs a DJ who is reading the floor.
A ballroom we have worked in for eight years
The International Ballroom is a big, tall room, and big rooms punish a system that was not built for them. We have loaded into this hotel for eight years, in the International Ballroom and in the smaller ballroom downstairs, and the difference between the two changes what we bring.
That history shows up in the boring parts: the load-in is quiet, the set times land where the planner asked, and the gear is staged around how the hotel moves people on an event day rather than how we would prefer it.

Do you already work with The Beverly Hilton?
Yes. We have produced 83 events at 9876 Wilshire Blvd since 2018 — 46 weddings and 31 b’nai mitzvah among them — in the International Ballroom and the smaller ballroom.
Can we book a band and a DJ for the same night?
We do it here regularly. The band carries dinner and the first dances, the DJ takes the room later, and the handoff is planned so the floor never empties.
Is the International Ballroom hard to fill with sound?
It is a tall room, so it needs a system built for the volume of air rather than the number of seats. We have sized it here many times and we will tell you honestly what the room needs.
Do you handle ceremony music as well as the reception?
We do. Saxophone, violin, guitar and hand percussion cover the ceremony and cocktail hour, and the same crew stays through the reception.
How far ahead should we book?
Saturdays in spring and autumn go first, often a year out. Send your date and we will tell you what is still open, including which bands and DJs are free.
