Our Goal
We want everyone to be able to browse our acts, read our guides and send us an inquiry, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, screen magnification or voice control. Our target for liventgroup.com is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
What We Tested
Before launch we checked the site against WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA with the axe-core testing engine. We ran it on every type of page: the home page, service and act pages, city pages, venue pages, blog posts, team bios, the contact page, the legal pages and the "page not found" page. Each was tested in both the light and the dark theme.
We also tested by keyboard. That covered the skip-to-content link, the main menu, the site search and the cookie preferences dialog, which keeps focus inside it until you close it.
What the Site Does
- Every page has a skip-to-content link and one main heading.
- Text meets the WCAG AA contrast ratios in the light and the dark theme.
- Images have text alternatives. Purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Form fields are labelled, and each error message is tied to the field it belongs to.
- The home page background video and animated reels stay still when your device asks for reduced motion.
Known Limitations
- Maps. The venue and service-area maps use map tiles from OpenStreetMap. The map is a visual aid: the same venues and cities are listed as text on the page.
- Embedded video. Some act pages play videos hosted on Vimeo or YouTube. Those players, including their controls and captions, come from Vimeo and YouTube, not from us.
- Captions. Our own performance videos are mostly music. The LIV Vintage Band promo and the three DJ mixes on the corporate party DJ page have captions that name each song. Our other performance videos don't have captions yet. If you need a description of a video, contact us and we'll send one.
